I’m proud of how I did for my mid-terms because I was actually having trouble getting the hang of phonetics but looks like I overcame that. I still need loads of practice before I perfect it though. Anyway, here are my results and also my outline for my demonstrative speech assessment. It's a lip scrub recipe, so if you have been meaning to make one, why not try mine?

Topic: Basic Lip Scrub by Farisya Azwar Binti Ridzuan (2019241982)
Purpose: To demonstrate how to produce a simple lip scrub for everyday use
1.Introduction
Attention Material: Whether you have a chapped lip problem or you are simply bored and want to make something useful out of your time, here’s a solution to both problems- creating your own natural exfoliator, a lip scrub!
Tie to Audience: My fellow peers,
Credibility Material: While I am no beauty guru, I can attest to how great lip scrubs are as I have been a loyal user of the product for some time now. Lip scrubs are amazing products as they are fun to apply and they do wonders for your lips, making them look more luscious, smooth and moisturized.
Thesis and Preview: Perhaps some of you in the audience already invest a lot in cosmetic supplies/products, therefore switching to homemade cosmetics can help you cut down costs. This product is essentially just caster sugar, oil, flavouring and food colouring all mixed together. So instead of spending up to RM60 on a fancy one from the shop, make your own one for much cheaper.
Transition: Let’s get straight into it now, shall we?
2.Body
Step 1
Main point:
Prepare all the ingredients and add in the caster sugar
-Use a small bowl or container that will be suitable to mix all the ingredients in
-This recipe requires no specific measurements, so you can simply eyeball how much needs to go in depending on the amount you want to produce
-Caster sugar is chosen because the granules are perfect to get dead skin cells off

Transition: Now on to the following step
Step 2
Main point: Add in an oil (or oils) of your choice.
-The sugar and oil combination make up the base of the scrub and you can choose from the various types of oils on the market based on your preference. Different types of oils have different properties.
-I chose olive oil as it is an antioxidant, which means it protects your cells from free radicals and also a few drops of lemon oil
-Do not add too much as to avoid a wet mixture, but if it is too dry do add in a bit more oil
Transition: Moving on
Step 3
Main point: Add a few drops of a flavouring agent
-The easiest option is vanilla essence, but I am using bubblegum flavouring as that I
-It elevates the scent of the scrub and leaves a nice aftertaste on your lips after each use
-The sumptuous scent is stimulating and draws you to use it more often
Transition: Time for the next instruction
Step 4
Main point: Add some food colouring of your choice
-Most of us have a tendency to be more excited over a product if it is visually-appealing
-I’ll be using pink, purple and blue, but you can use any colour of your choice
-I am going to divide the mixture into three and dye the scrub separately, creating a tri-layered effect
Transition: Voila! The scrub is almost ready to use
Step 5
Main point: Carefully spoon the scrub into an empty lip balm container
-Since it is small, it is conveniently portable
-You can leave it in your backpack or purse and bring it with you everywhere
-It can be applied for a quick “pick-me-up” throughout
3.Conclusion
Brakelight: And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how to make a basic lip scrub. Not only was it fun to make, but we know of the benefits each ingredient it contains bring to the table
Summary: Lip scrubs are a fun, easy DIY and as all the ingredients can be found in your pantry, it is 100% safe of you accidentally- or purposely- lick it off
Tie back to the audience: Now, my friends, instead of purchasing a pre-made mass-produced cosmetic, you can enjoy a cheaper alternative. It can even be given out as gifts for the people you love in your life
Concluding memorable remarks: A stellar product made by yourself in your own home just makes it more special to use. I hope you enjoyed my demonstration and do try it yourself soon!
